Agenda

Listserver situation still needs to be addressed

  • Need to set up an opt-in community server for residents
  • Need to have an additional listserv for non-university residents
    • Dependents, partners, etc.

Mailroom

Overall still messy and unorganized. Packages get left behind for months in the mailroom or are left in random places making it difficult to find

  • Someone responsible for helping organize the packages now
  • Need community to keep track of their packages
    • Looking into option to send more emails to people to remind them to pick up their packages
  • We have a representative with Amazon for coordinating delivery efforts
    • Trying to get the delivery people more accountable and start putting things into lockers
  • Potential solution: putting more signs up to help make it clear for delivery drivers to know where they should send packages to

People are complaining of theft of packages including expensive packages (laptops, airpods, etc.)

  • Possible option of sending packages to Frist for safekeeping
    • Many people don’t know about this option
  • Theft needs to be reported to campus safety immediately upon discovery
  • Potential solution: The option of putting packages in a locked box on weekends when the leasing office isn’t open

Unclear on what happens to packages after 24 hours

  • 24 hour time limit in place due to sheer volume of packages
  • Once expired they are removed and put into the office where they are locked away for safekeeping
    • Residents will receive an email when their package is removed from the lockers by Meadows staff
  • Lockers are an automatic system which is why they are prioritized

Other general remarks:

  • Post on website to keep this information centralized
  • As no listserv yet, committee will send emails to Loydes Nieves or Rishon for widespread communication to the entire Meadows community
  • Be more active on the Meadows slack to answer resident questions

Vehicles

People drive their cars through pedestrian paths and other areas that are not intended for that use

  • Might need to put up more blockades or rocks in these paths to discourage vehicle use in these areas

Bridge concerns of lack of lighting especially in the winter

  • Safety walks by EHS, on the website you can report lighting concerns.
  • University doesn’t own the streets and bridges
    •  Need to present to EHS to escalate to the township
  • Escalated concern to office of capital projects that oversees meadows neighborhood to see where additional bollards to ensure Meadows remains pedestrian friendly
  • Can see future plans on capital project
  • Gap in planning in capital project, can students make a request for future projects

Inside Meadows, court drive the lights are sometimes off which makes it hard to see.

  • Ongoing problem with electricity that is being actively worked on

The stop sign outside on meadows on garage is down so needs to be put back up

  • Need to submit a maintenance request
  • Chair will share how to submit these kinds of requests

Parking

Lots of people park in 30 minute parking when there are not supposed to be and overflow of people are parking in fire lane

  • Students can always call DPS (Department of Public Safety) to take care of this
    • Especially those parked in fire land should be an immediate DPS call
  • Handicapped spots are also being abused
  • In general, community standard issue that needs to be addressed

Trash

People being nasty with their trash in the hallways

Smoking near the building

  • Concern with the ventilation system
  • Department of Public Safety (DPS) can also be called in cases of smoking

Townhall

Will be discussed further during the committee paper meeting
