Here are some frequently asked questions that the committee receives.
Where do we dispose of trash?
Large trash items, such as garbage bags, need to be thrown away in the dumpsters or large trash cans near Building A, B, and C (in the wooden enclosed structures). Smaller items can be thrown away in the grey trash receptacles located around the property.
Large boxes and other recyclable items can be thrown in the recycling bins located by each building. Please do not throw plastic garbage bags in recycling.
Composting is available near Building A and C only since the trucks do not fit easily to pick up compost at the Building B waste area.
Why is the bus stop so far away?
There were plans to expand the Meadows area that have been put on pause for the time being. The bus stop is supposed to be a central location. Princeton buses cannot fit closer to the buildings and would be unable to turn around in a timely manner.
What are some tips for package delivery?
Please see our page on package room tips and tricks! We know that the package room is a stressful part of living at Meadows, and we have implemented a few new ideas to reduce package room problems. Nevertheless, we must abide by all Princeton policies.
How does the air conditioning and heating work?
The university is moving toward Net Zero admissions and since Meadows is a new building on campus, we have a geothermal-based heating and cooling system in line with this goal. This means that above 60F (16C), the system will switch to cooling, and below 50F (10C), the system will switch to heating. The fan will always remain on to circulate air in each apartment.
What do I do if a package goes missing?
Please call Public Safety and file a report. It can help increase monitoring around Meadows.
I found a key in my mailbox, what does this mean?
If there’s a key in your mailbox, it means you have a package in one of the lockers below the mailboxes. Match that key to the locker, and you can retrieve your package!
How do I book a space for an event?
By logging onto EMS, you can navigate to GSHC to find the spaces available for booking at Meadows. We are listed as the graduate student housing complex rather than Meadows since the original system name cannot be changed.
