Packages and Mail

Meadows Committee Package Room Tips

  1. Use Frist secure package delivery for expensive items.
    • If you use this service, you will receive a temporary mailbox where your package will be stored securely.
  2. Consider off-campus pickup locations if possible.
    • Options include the Amazon lockers at 7-Eleven (Nassau St), Amazon pickup at UPS (Nassau St), FedEx pickup at Walgreens (Harrison St).
  3. Pick up packages as soon as possible.
    • This reduces mailroom clutter, frees locker space for others and reduces theft risk.
  4. Track package information daily.
    • Make sure to check automatic subscriptions as well.
  5. Report suspected stolen packages to Public Safety
    • While there is no guarantee, some stolen items have been successfully recovered via Public Safety.
  6. Double check Amazon packages are missing before reporting as misdelivered.
    • Locations can be flagged by Amazon for reporting large amounts of missing packages. We don’t want this to happen at Meadows!
  7. Take extra precautions for vendors with distinctive or labelled packaging.
    • Carefully track your package and pick it up ASAP. You may wish to send it to Frist instead of Meadows.
  8. Do not send packages to the package room while you are away.
    • Many thefts (not all) seem to occur when a package is left for a few days. If a package arrives unexpectedly, ask a friend or family member to retrieve it. If it is in a locker, please reach out to Lo or Rishon so they can make space for new packages.
  9. Lo and Rishon can sign for packages if you indicate them as signees.
    • These packages must be delivered during business hours. Lo and Rishon will keep the package securely in a locked closet or their offices, and you can pick it up during business hours.

Mail

USPS delivers mail to your mailbox, shared by you and your roommate(s). Please include your full name and unit address when receiving mail and/or packages. Do not include your mailbox number.

Any mis-delivered mail can be dropped off to the main office. Meadows staff will confirm the mail is properly addressed and return it to the carrier for delivery.

Packages

Packages are delivered to mailroom located in 311 Court Drive (Building C). Package lockers are used to store appropriately sized packages. Packages that do not fit in a locker will be stored in the mailroom. If a package is not collected from the locker within 24 hours, then the package will be locked in the main office for safekeeping. Residents will receive an email when this occurs, and can visit the main office during business hours to collect their packages.

Packages can also be delivered to the main office – the address is 311 Court Drive, Princeton, NJ 08540. You will receive an email if the main office receives packages for you. Packages held in the main office can be picked up during business hours.

Select high-value items can also be sent to the First Campus Center lockers. Please see the Print & Mail Services page for guidelines on how to use this service before placing any orders.
